The main objective of this final paper was to relate theory and children with autism spectrum disorder practice, to represent the importance of volunteering with users of Centre for autism, as well as the importance of cooperating with other institutions. The theoretical models linked to this kind of disorder in childhood, as well as interdisciplinary methods and models of working in therapy with children, will be thoroughly presented. It should also be noted that paper includes a description of cooperation with parents during diagnosis, as well as education and rehabilitation procedures for early intervention. The characteristics of children with autistic spectrum disorders are described based on observations of two boys in a special program group for children with disabilities in DV "Maestral”. In addition, working methods of the educational therapist are presented, based on structured interviewing. The parent's opinion on co-operation with experts was also presented, on the basis of conducted semi-structured interview. Finally, personal volunteer work experience at the Center for Autism is described, based on collected data and observations. The conclusion of the paper highlights the ambivalence of parents' attitudes, positive co-operation between parents of students and experts from the Autism Center, and the importance of communication exchanges during improvisation through music in the process of musicotherapy.
